Parrots & Pigeons

I never saw this in Louisville. Standing out on our balcony, we have been watching as dozens of parrots fly down our street - about 15 feet from our balcony at eye level. We normally have pigeons, but this is 2 years in a row that we have had the parrots. These are green birds with red heads. I'm used to seeing them in cages in pet stores or at zoos. Do parrots migrate from the north for winter?

I can't get a picture because they move too fast for my camera. As we used to say in the 70's, "it's pretty neat."
